Did you know it takes the average person ​four and a half years​ and a minimum of four doctors before they are diagnosed with an ​autoimmune disease​? And that is just for a diagnosis. To find autoimmune healing, it will take much longer. Does this sound like your story?

Autoimmune Healing Frustrations

Dealing with autoimmune healing can be so frustrating in multiple ways. First, most women don’t feel heard by the practitioners they see. Most practitioners are not taught how to heal autoimmune diseases, just what medicine will help relieve symptoms. So, unless they have taken the effort to learn autoimmune healing on their own, they don’t have that knowledge.

Also, most practitioners have very limited time. They don’t have time to learn that skillset on their own, and they don’t have time with patients. If they are set up in a traditional medical model, they have about ten minutes at the most to devote to each patient. That is nowhere close to enough time to ask the right questions and find ​root causes​ to find autoimmune healing.

Autoimmune Healing Is Possible

Autoimmune healing is possible! What I help my clients do is to “clear the muddy waters”. By changing the most obvious lifestyle factors we know cause symptoms for people, you can start healing and/or get to deeper seeded root causes. Until you remove the root causes of your disease, autoimmune healing isn’t possible.

Autoimmune Healing Is Linked to Your Diet

All food is information to your body. What you eat can tell your body two things. Food can tell your body to store fat, increase inflammation, run for safety, and save energy (creating fatigue). Or food can tell your body to decrease inflammation, use stored energy, decrease fat stores and all is good. Choosing real, whole food is the fastest way to decrease inflammation and tell your body all is good.

Autoimmune Healing is Linked to Your Nervous System

Yes, I’m a dietitian and I believe what you eat is extremely important. But, as important as I feel your food is, I feel regulating your nervous system is just as important. Your nervous system tells you how to react to this world. If your nervous system is telling you to all is not ok and to run fast, then autoimmune healing isn’t possible. Your nervous system has to be telling you all is ok for healing to take place.

There are plenty of ways to reset your nervous system. I like to use the breath, and I teach ​breathwork​ to all my clients. Your breath has the ability to maintain a calm nervous system and to also help release up to 70% of the stored toxins in your body…accelerating autoimmune healing.

Autoimmune Healing is Linked to Your Mindset

Autoimmune healing can be frustrating, but don’t continue to be frustrated. Use that frustration to become determined. Change the thoughts of “I’ll never find autoimmune healing” to “I just haven’t found autoimmune healing yet”. Every cell in your body hears your thoughts. If you are telling yourself you won’t heal, then you won’t.

Start becoming aware of your thoughts and change your thoughts to be positive. Talk nicely to yourself and notice the difference in your autoimmune healing.
